How to make Shaving Cream Gel without the burn

Achieving a close shave without the burn and irritation is difficult. Many chemicals are introduced in shaving creams/gels, which is very effective, but harmful to the environment.

For a smooth shave without toxins and synthetic components, shaving cream/gel can be made at home. It is also eco-friendly, and it works. It will not be the best shaving cream versus brand names, but it provides a comfortable shave.

So lets get to it.

  • 1/3 cup bottled water.
  • 1 teaspoon borax powder.
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil (for a smooth shave).
  • 1 tablespoon liquid lanolin.
  • 1 tablespoon grated beeswax.
  • 1 teaspoon almond oil (provides vitamin E).
  • 1 teaspoon apricot kernel oil (provides vitamin A).
  • 1/3 cup aloe vera clear gel (heals burns and irritations).
  • 1 teaspoon tea tree oil (eliminates bacteria).
  • 15 drops of peppermint oil (fresh scent).

Step by step instructions:
  1. Pour the bottled water and borax in a pan number 1.
  2. Simmer and stir until the borax is blended.
  3. Pour coconut oil, liquid lanolin, and grated beeswax in a separate pan number 2.
  4. Simmer and stir until blended.
  5. Pour pan number 1 and pan number 2 into a bowl.
  6. Whisk, Whisk, and mix.
  7. Let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
  8. Add almond oil, apricot oil, tea tree oil, and peppermint oil.
  9. Whisk, Whisk, and mix.
  10. Let it cool for another minute.
  11. Add aloe vera clear gel.
  12. Whisk, Whisk, and mix.
  13. Let it cool.
  14. Store the final product in a jar.

Before applying, rinse and clean the area with warm water and soap. Remember to create a lather, and let the cream/gel sit on the skin for a minute. Begin shaving and enjoy helping planet earth.
